Contributor Bio
Jim Harrison (1937-2016) was one of America’s most versatile and celebrated writers, and he published nearly forty books of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, including the acclaimed trilogy of novellas Legends of the Fall. His books have been translated into two dozen languages, and he is a best-seller in both the United States and France. In 2007 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters. With a fondness for open space and anonymous thickets, Harrison situated himself far from urban literary centers, and lived in rural Michigan, Montana, and along the US-Mexico border in Arizona. As the Sunday Times (London) wrote, “Jim Harrison is a writer with immortality in him.”
