Kingdom/Order
Reid Psaltis follows up his debut, the Order of Things (Secret Acres, 2016) with his first ever narrative comics work, Kingdom/Order. Psaltis makes a natural progression here, as his graphic novel follows a man’s return to the animal kingdom. Once again, Psaltis‘s extensive art and science education inform every page of exquisite drawings. Reid’s work as an illustrator has been featured online at the Rumpus, and in print in Science Notes, Scout Books’ Good Ink series, and in Dan Berne’s novel the Gods of Second Chances (Forest Avenue Press). His comics have appeared online and in eBooks from Top Shelf 2.0, Study Group Comics, Trip City and Alternative Comics. Pslatis was the recipient of Oregon’s Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) Grant for 2017. He is also the gallery director of Portland’s Magnetic North Studios. The first two chapters of Kingdom/Order were published as eBooks by Alternative Comics. The anticipated conclusion can only be found in this edition. Reid Pslatis will be found touring the country in support of Kingdom/Order.
