Monsters
Monsters, by Gabby Schulz (writing as Ken Dahl), returns to print in a larger format with a new, deluxe, stitched binding. Between printings, collector demand for this book has driven the price of previous editions to ten and twenty times its cover price.
For its original publication, Monsters was counted on dozens of lists of the best comics of the year, including those from the Village Voice, Library Journal, the Comics Journal and Comic Book Resources. It has garnered a Best American Comics selection, two Small Press Expo Ignatz Awards and an Eisner Award nomination. Flavorwire recently included Monsters on its list of the ten most "disturbingly brilliant" graphic novels of all time.
Since Monsters, Gabby Schulz has produced the limited edition comic, weather, and a host of online comics work. His web comic, SEXISM, was a viral sensation, written up everywhere from the Stranger to Scientific American. Additionally, his work has appeared on narrative.ly and BuzzFeed and in Arthur Magazine.
The new edition of Monsters will be released alongside Gabby Schulz's hotly anticipated Sick, which was nominated for the 2013 Small Press Expo Ignatz Award for Best Webcomic.
