NewSouth Books is the sales, marketing and distribution division of UNSW Press and has been operating for more than 25 years. NewSouth Books represents publishers from Australasia, the USA, Canada, Europe and the UK. A list of our publishers can be found here.
We boast a significant presence in the Australian and New Zealand book industry, regularly rating among the top ten suppliers of fiction, non-fiction, children’s books and academic books. This is due to our passionate and experienced team and speaks to our ongoing commitment to represent Australian and international publishers recognised for their publishing excellence, and their educational, cultural and social impact.
Attuned to the needs of readers and authors from academic and literary communities, NewSouth Books provides innovative fulfillment solutions with Alliance Distribution Services. Our focus is efficient and sustainable supply, speed-to-market and quality of service in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The experienced team of NewSouth Books sales representatives, covering all states in Australia, sell our wide range of titles into retail outlets, including major chain stores, independent booksellers and department stores. Titles also sell through online booksellers, educational and library wholesalers, airports, academic and specialist channels, museums and galleries. NewSouth Books also manages eBook distribution for independent Australian publishers and actively promotes digital product through targeted channels.
The NewSouth Books marketing team offers a set of marketing services for all agencies. Order forms and sales kits for the trade and library suppliers are generated monthly. All agencies can participate in direct mailing lists for specific subject groups and other seasonal promotional opportunities. Title files are prepared and uploaded for Title Page, Bookfind and bookseller databases.
Our communications team offers additional publicity support for agencies that require it, with promotion via traditional and online media, as well as events.
