Samuel Langhorne Clemens (pen name Mark Twain) (30 November 1835 - 21 April 1910) was an American author, whose notable works include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Jack Sparling (June 1916 - February 1997) was a Canadian comic illustrator. In the 1950s he illustrated two of Gilberton's Classics Illustrated; Robin Hood and Mark Twain's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court.
