Carey Kish is a seasoned hiker, outdoors writer, beer enthusiast and longtime New England denizen. Kish has twice hiked the 2,190-mile Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine (twice), the 1,100-mile Florida Trail and the 2,654-mile Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. Beer Hiking New England is a product of Kish’s lifelong passion for hiking and his love for tasty craft-brewed beer. He is also editor of the AMC Maine Mountain Guide and author of AMC’s Best Day Hikes Along the Maine Coast. Kish’s hiking column has appeared in the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram for two decades, and his writing has also appeared in a wide variety of other publications.
