A beautifully illustrated children’s book about the compelling journey of a young chicken named Cluck, told by a sage parrot.
Cluck is a very fortunate bird that was born in the safety and security of a sanctuary. But he is surrounded by birds who have seen hardship at the hands of humans, including the book’s narrator, an old wise parrot. Cluck is about to learn about other chicks who are not protected firsthand, as a factory farm and a chicken dinner drive-thru are built down the road. Children and adults of all ages will be moved and captivated by Cluck’s journey.
Cheryl Moss is a staunch animal activist and vegan who resides in Henderson, Nevada. She is creating a children’s book series about alternative ways of thinking and living to foster fundamental change. With her husband, she created the non-profit Let’s Share a Dog, whereby lonely people could connect with busy people in their own neighborhood through the mutual love of dogs. Cluck
is the second in a children’s book series.
Irene Blasco is a Spanish illustrator, designer, and painter based in Valencia, Spain. Taking an intuitive approach, she primarily works with digital techniques in a versatile style that accentuates her use of color. She loves photography and since 2010 has taught art workshops for children. Her work has been recognized with prestigious awards as the Bologna Ragazzi Digital Award in 2013 for her interactive storybook Rita the Lizard. Irene is also the winner of the LIBER 2021 Illustration Award.
