The dramatic and tragic story of the Black Donnellys is legendary and has been immortalized in song (by Stompin' Tom Connors and Steve Earle), on the screen (2007 NBC mini-series) and on the stage (Owen Sound LittleTheatre and Citadel Theatre, 2013-2015) Leckie is currently pitching a new mini-series based on Cursed! The Blood of the Donnellys; scripts are currently in development Leckie has workied in film and television for over three decades. He has written for many TV shows, including The Beachcombers, Spirit Bay and Traders, as well as miniseries and movies for CBC, HBO, NBC and Alliance Atlantis His work has won Gemini Awards and Emmy Awards
