After nearly being killed while covering the war in Ukraine, Briley Jacobs returns to Coopersville, Arkansas, to rest and recuperate. Spending time with her father, Reese, catching up with old friends, and enjoying the peace and quiet of the family farm is just what the doctor ordered.
Surprisingly, a chance for romance arises when longtime crush, sexy sheriff Seth McKenna, reveals his feelings for Briley go beyond mere friendship. Their budding romance, however, is interrupted when one of the good citizens of Coopersville is brutally murdered. The horrible crime rocks their small community and things only get worse when the killer strikes again.
Bodies begin to pile up as other victims are dispatched by a murderer who leaves behind no evidence and no clues. Unable to find a motive for the shocking deaths, Seth struggles to keep Briley and the other residents of his county safe. When a shocking revelation changes everything, Briley and Seth's relationship is suddenly at risk as long buried sins come to light. When Seth disappears, Briley is determined to find him - even if it means coming face to face with a cold-blooded killer.
