1. Hollo’s ties to various poetic communities through his work as a translator, to Naropa University, where he is teaching, and to the Poetry Project in New York should boost sales in New York and Colorado as well as at sympathetic independent bookstores like Shaman Drum, City Lights, Prairie Lights, Labyrinth, St. Mark’s Bookshop, etc. 2. Library Journal has always been a great supporter of Hollo’s work and their endorsement should help with library sales. 3. The popularity of the collected Berrigan and Koch poems, should help this collection if we can find the same audience for these wise and funny sonnets. 4. Hollo received the San Francisco State University Poetry Center Book Award for his most recent collection of poems and, in 2004, he received the Academy of American Poets’ Harold Morton Landon Translation Award for his translation of Pentti Saarikoski’s Trilogy.
