Trevor Taylor grew up in Gunner’s Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador, where the outdoors, fishing, birds, and boats were as big a part of growing up as going to school. He cut his high teeth fishing cod in the midship room of a trap skiff before working for the Newfoundland Fishermen’s Union and captaining a 55-foot crab and shrimp fishing vessel. Later on, he was Minister of Fisheries and helped establish one of Canada’s leading ocean conservation organizations. He now lives in Iqaluit, Nunavut with his wife, Udloriak, and dog, Gunner. He loves to snowmobile and boat all over the southern Baffin region and compose silly rhymes and bad dad jokes to amuse his family.
