Imagine a Time
Age range 3 to 6
Imagine a time when all the world stops,
when all of the clocks no longer tick-tock.
and all of the maps are starting to fade,
as the need to be somewhere drifts far away.
A glorious celebration of nature’s healing powers and a timely reminder for us all to slow down.
Penny Harrison is a children’s author, journalist and experienced daydreamer, living in Naarm, Melbourne, Australia. She has been playing with words and pictures since she was little, growing up on a cattle farm in remote NSW. Penny contributes to a range of leading magazines and newspapers, and has written more than 10 internationally published picture books. In her spare time, she loves foraging in the garden, dabbling in any kind of craft activity and making plenty of mess.
Jennifer Goldsmith came to visual storytelling trailing fluff and threads from years of toy making. She used to bring characters to life in her hands one stitch at a time, but now scribbles them into the world with a 2B pencil on satisfyingly heavy paper. She’s always drawn to gentle stories that are comforting and tread lightly on the hearts of children. For Jennifer, the process of sitting with a story and letting it wash over her as they get to know each other is a privilege she tries not to take for granted. Spending days losing track of time, chasing watercolours across paper while clutching coloured pencils is a dream come true.
