Lecture
Cappello’s book-length essay is an energetic, irreverent, thought-provoking look at the lecture that will appeal to readers of Mary Ruefle, Maggie Nelson, and Eula Biss
This will be the lead title in Transit’s Undelivered Lectures series, which features original book-length essays of exceptional literary and cultural value.
Cappello is professor at the University of Rhode Island, with a wide academic network.
Mary Cappello’s six books of literary nonfiction include a detour on awkwardness; a breast-cancer anti-chronicle; a lyric biography; and the mood fantasia, Life Breaks In. A former Guggenheim and Berlin Prize Fellow, she is a professor of English and creative writing at the University of Rhode Island. She lives in Providence, Rhode Island, and Lucerne-in-Maine, Maine.
