Notes from the Esplanade

In the 1980s a young Leningrad writer moves to Sukumi, a resort on the Black Sea, to write a novel about Albert Eistein, Paul Ehrenfest and the nature of discovery. During the process, he realises that he has become a closet historiographer of Russia's catastrophe, a performance played by madmen, victims and executioners.
