Praise Music
A collection of irreverent but definitely not irrelevant poetry by a master-student in the study of human psychology. D.G. Geis doesn't worry about smoothing out the hurt in Praise Music. And all done with a smart layer of philosophic thought--most definitely irreverent but not irrelevant.
D.G. Geis is the author of Fire Sale (Tupelo Press/Leapfolio) and Mockumentary (Main Street Rag). His poetry has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies. He was the winner of the 2017 Firman Houghton Prize, the 2017 Emrys Prize, and was shortlisted for both the 2017 Ballymaloe International Poetry Prize (Ireland) and the 2017 Percy French Prize (Strokestown International Poetry Prize, Ireland). He was also a finalist for The New Alchemy (University of Alaska) and Fish Prizes (Ireland); and a finalist for the 2016 Main Street Rag Chapbook Competition, the 2016 Edna St. Vincent Millay Prize, the 2016 Louis Award, the 2016 Rash Award, the 2017 Prime Number Magazine Award for Poetry, and the 2017 Emrys Chapbook Prize. He divides his time between Galveston and the Hill Country of Central Texas.
