Leaders usually confront opportunities and challenges in muddled fashions and their main task is to size them up properly and respond with creativity and wisdom. Paul Schoemaker was research director of the Mack Institute for Innovation Management at the Wharton School, where he also taught strategy and decision making. He also served for over a decade as the faculty of the University of Chicago’s graduate school of business. He also founded and ran Decision Strategies International, published 12 books and over 125 articles.
