Chris McKimmie is a writer, artist, designer, musician, lecturer, and grandad to seven grandkids and one dog – Kiddo – a black kelpie who shares his morning-tea biscuits. Chris has had many solo and group exhibitions of his art, and his books have been included in Children’s Book Council of Australia shortlists, honours lists and notable books lists. His I NEED a Parrot won the CBCA’s Picture Book of the Year award in 2020. Kiddo is proud of him.
