A normal day in the park turns out to be full of surprises!
Clara has gone to the park, but there's nobody to play with. She finds an umbrella on the ground and does a good deed by putting it on a bench. The umbrella says 'thank you' and invites Clara to make a wish. So unfolds a magical chain of events featuring a new friend, an elephant, musical butterflies and a naughty fox who learns his lesson.
An amusing and magical way to introduce themes of empathy, choice-making and citizenship to the youngest readers.
'Lovely bold, expressive drawing conjures a magical story in Elena Arevalo Melville's heart-warming picture book, in which a lonely girl finds an object in the park that brings the needy what they lack and the greedy what they deserve: this includes a blue elephant and a sense of community.' — Sunday Times: Best Children's Books to Read This Summer
'A surreal tale of empathy, kindness and community to share and discuss at every opportunity.' — Red Reading Hub
'A superb work: an example of a text being paired with it's perfect publisher. Joyous!' — Groat Journal
